Yes, you read correctly, this is my last blog post! I always thought I would stop blogging one day and it would be some great post with some mind blowing image and pearls of wisdom but at alas it is not. In today’s Social Media driven world I feel that Facebook is a far more effective tool than blogging so to that end I will be updating my Facebook page more regularly. You can follow me at www.facebook/ryanphillipsphotography. I will post more often and you can follow me through my world if you like. From shooting celebrities, to weddings, to commercial shoots I will try my hardest to take you along on the journey and give you something interesting. It’s been an amazing 5 years of blogging and thanks to all the people who stuck around and read. Finally….the wedding pics of San Francisco Giants Pitcher Dan Runzler’s wedding to Sports Reporter Michelle Phalen. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to blog! It was a beautiful winter day in Palm Springs and the Miramonte is an amazing venue to get married at. We had a killer engagement session the day before in the desert and were still excited to shoot the next day. They had a great crew with them and the whole weekend was so much fun.

Lucky me I got to start off the day shooting at one of my all time favorite hotels, the SLS Beverly Hills. Anne had given me a 3 hour time slot in the day to take pics at the SLS. Go Anne! It is a photographer’s playground and we got so many amazing shots since we had the time to shoot. And then much more attuned to their personalities we went over to Luques Restaurant down the street for a small intimiate reception and dinner with close family and friends. Anne is pretty much one of the happiest brides I have ever seen and the look on her face all day long was pure joy.
 

Wow, I am soooo far behind on blogging only about 20 jobs to catch up on! So without further time wasting..check out Jonathan and Heidi’s wedding in San Diego at the Japanese Gardens. I had such a great time down in SD and got to see lots of old clients since I have also shot many of their friends weddings. It was great to see everyone and catch up.

Maria and Paul had a beautiful wedding at Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. These two Bostonians give power couple a new meaning. Dressed to the nines, Maria was wearing a stunning Gucci wedding dress with some serious Jimmy Choo heels. Paul was wearing a a custom Brooks Brothers suit. I have shot many engagement sessions at Disney but this was the first wedding…what a great location to get married! The architecture makes for stunning photos and creates an amazing experience for guests. We had the whole place to ourselves to shoot. It’s like an amusement park for Photographers.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to photograph back-to-back weddings in my favorite place on earth… Bend, Oregon. Wedding #2 was at SunRiver’s Caldera Springs Resort. It was the first time they have done a wedding there and the place is simply amazing! It is a beautiful spot with great light an beautiful suspension bridge to shoot on. My favorite shot is the last one. After about 30 minutes of shooting, Dave, Lindsay and I walked back over the hill from the bridge to the reception and there was a full moon that seemed to hang just inches above their reception tent. They just turned to each other in amazement and kissed. The perfect ending to a perfect day shooting in the Cascades.

This Saturday I had the chance to work with Alex Rembac of Sterling Engagements. She did an amazing job on Stephanie and Darren’s wedding which was a smashing success. Alex was in love with Stephanie’s shoes and asked if I could get her a few pics for her weekly Shoe Shot Sunday blog post. I didn’t think she believed me when I said I would have them to her in the morning…
